Hi fans!
The season 2011 is nearly finished. The last tournament in Paris and will finally go on a 15-day holiday to Panama.
I have some interesting news for you, my dear fans. I'm gonna start a new doubles partnership with Austrian doubles specialist Alexander Peya next year. The reason behind my decision was that I played with him this year 2 tournaments, in Belgrad and Hamburg, and we finished runner-up at the former event and won the title at the latter. Our performance at the Davis Cup tie against Belgium was also important. We earned the point in doubles and then, on the next day, Jurgen led us to the World Group with his win.
After playing the Davis Cup, I asked Alex if he could consider playing doubles with me next year (as you know, he was playing the whole year with Christopher Kas and they played really well). I was happy when Alex came up to me in Shanghai to say that he wanna play with me in 2012.
It's great to play with Alex because we complement each other on the court, we speak the same language and understand each other very well. We also think about playing in the Olympic Games - if we have a good first half of 2012, we will have our chances to qualify. In the Davis Cup, we can take the pressure off Jurgen Melzer (he will not have to play three matches!). Would be nice to get to the DC quarter-finals or more. The ATP World Tour Finals in London are one of our goals as well...
Besides, I hope it's gonna be easier for us, an all-Austrian team, to find a sponsor that will help fulfill our goals.
Thx a lot for your support!
Oliver
