MONTE-CARLO

Hi folks,
It's been a while since you heard from me so I thought it's time to drop a line. I'm now in Monte-Carlo and I have to tell you that it's one of the nicest tournaments on Tour.
My best friend, Peter Hausbrandt, is with me here to support me and help me out a little with the fitness practise. Now I do not have to do it alone. On the court this week I'm helped by Janko Tipsarevic's coach and my manager, Dirk Hordorff. So everything is set around the team.

I haven't played with Lukas after Indian Wells for 3 weeks now. I had a great run in Miiami with Janko, making it to the semis and losing with a match point and 2-point difference against the eventual winners Paes and Bhupathi.

In Monte-Carlo we played today Benneteau-Chardy. We knew they would be dangerous, we saw them play yesterday in their first-round clash against Lopez-Monaco, which was a very good match. It was a very close battle today. Actually, the opponents converted 2 from 2 break points and we just 1 from 7. We were down 2-5 and 5-7 in the Match tiebreak. Later on my serve we faced a match point at 9-10. Lukas returned an unbelievable forhand cross winner. We were very happy winning our first match after 3 weeks! We hope we will play even better in the next round :)
